“The number one and most important thing about playing rugby is having fun”

U4 Coaches

BORN AFTER 2015

This groups consists of 2, 3 and 4 year olds. 5 year olds move to the next group when they are ready.

The group meet for organised chaos each Saturday morning and learn important skills such as team work, ball handling and navigating a rugby themed obstacle course. The ultimate aim for all the U4 coaches is to ensure that each boy and girl has had the maximum amount of fun they could have in an hour each Saturday morning.

What’s the best thing about your team?

Every boy/girl, repeat everyone, protests once or twice about rugby training at 8am. Around 8.30am the last protests are finished and more than thirty 2, 3 and 4 year olds are having the best fun. By 9am every child is screaming for more rugby.

What do the kids get out of their training?

They learn the fundamentals of teamwork and athletic behaviours.

What’s the best thing about playing rugby?

All the U4 coaches agree “the number one and most important thing about laying rugby is having fun”.
