SEMIFINALS DAY ON THE PADANG
Come on down to the Padang this Saturday 25th February for a great afternoon of rugby. The SCC are playing in the SRU Premiership semi finals, and there will also be exhibition matches for the SCC Rugby Academy against Centaurs and TRC. And there will be a pitch side bar if you get a little thirsty!

JRCS LEAGUE GAMES
The JRCS League games for the U10 through to U17 started last weekend, and will go until Term 2. Each weekend we will be hosting some games at Dempsey, as well a few our teams may be playing away. Your coaches will keep you updated on what your squad is doing through TeamSnap and/or WhatsApp.
In order to fit everyone in, on some weekends we may have to adjust which pitch your squad uses for training. Your coach will notify you of any changes before training so look out for any messages from them.

IMPORTANT – MICROSPORIDIA HEALTH ADVISORY
With the recent very wet and muddy conditions, we would like to remind parents, and players, to ensure they wash their faces with water after playing in muddy conditions.
Microsporidia are spore-forming single-cell intracellular parasites. Since the early 2000s, microsporidia keratoconjunctivitis has been increasingly reported in Singapore, mostly after eye contact with wet soil or mud during outdoor activities. The main presenting signs and symptoms are eye redness, pain/foreign body sensation, photosensitivity and blurred vision.
All players who have been in contact with soil or mud should maintain good personal hygiene. We would encourage the children to bring extra water to wash their faces if they come into contact with mud, and to use different towels for the face and body immediately after training. If your child will use them, you may wish to keep eye drops in your children’s bag so they can apply them after training.
Do seek early medical consultation (e.g. an eye specialist) should your child experience symptoms such as itchy and painful red eyes with discharge occurring from two days up to three weeks after being in contact with soil or mud.
LIGHT SNACKS AT DEMPSEY

Don’t forget that light snacks are available for sale at the F&B Hut at Dempsey. You will now be able to buy muffins, sandwiches and hot dogs to go with your coffee! Please note that you now pay by PayNow and cash, or you can sign on your account if you are a Singapore Cricket Club member.
KIT
As rugby and touch get back into the swing of things, with the lifting of the restrictions from the past two years, we are very excited to be taking part in many tournaments and friendly games with our fellow junior clubs. If your team is taking part in games, we would kindly ask that you ensure that your child is wearing their full and up-to-date kit. They must wear the latest playing jersey/touch top that they were given which have our sponsors latest logos on them. Please keep the old tops with the old logos just for training.
Our sponsors have generously stood by us during the past 2 years, and we need to honour their contribution and support by wearing the tops that they have sponsored for us.
