TRAINING UPDATE
There is no training for the U13 on Saturday, however if any of the boys do want to have a run this weekend please let us know and we will organise for them to join another team.
ARE YOU HEADING OFF TO PASTURES NEW?
As we come to the end of the school year for a number of international schools, we have to say farewell and good luck to many families who are leaving Singapore, and kids heading off to boarding school.
Please don’t forget to drop a note to info@sccrugybacademy.com if you are leaving, so we can update TeamSnap and the team registration lists.
COLLECTION OF PRE-LOVED ITEMS FOR CHILDREN IN MANILA
We will be having another collection of quality used items to send to the Cararoo Foundation in Manila. This charity helps disadvantaged children by supporting them through their education and after school activities.
Collections will be held on Saturday 23rd June, and Saturday 30th June up at the club house at Dempsey.
What to send?
Good quality sports kit and equipment (which will fit in box)
Kids clothes
Small games or children’s books in English
Please make sure they are clean (especially shoes and boots), and of good quality – things your own child would be happy to have second hand!
BOOT SWAP
To coincide with the Cararoo collection, we will be holding boot swaps on both Saturday 23rd and Saturday 30th June. If you have any boots at home that no longer fit, just bring them in and swap them for a pair that do! Any boots that are leftover will be sent to the Cararoo Foundation.
PLEASE COULD YOU TIE THE LACES OF YOUR BOOTS TOGETHER TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR THEM TO REMAIN A PAIR!
RUGBY BALLS NOW AVAILABLE ON SALE IN OUR ONLINE STORE
We now have rugby balls available for sale in our online store that can be found on our homepage – www.sccrugbyacademy.com
The balls are match quality and cost $35. At the moment we just have size 5 available, and are hoping to have size 3 in the store for Term 3.
If you order your ball before Sunday midnight, it will be available for pick up the following Saturday at Dempsey (during term time).
SCC SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS
The SCC Summer Sports Camps have now started and will run throughout the summer, and the SCC are now offering all SCC Rugby Academy members a 10% discount. This week, Henry (U7) and Liam (U10) Quinn both enjoyed their time at the camp this week.
The Singapore Cricket Club are holding several summer holiday sports camps on the following dates for children aged 6 to 12 years.
– 25th – 29th June
– 2nd – 6th July
– 16th – 20th July
– 23rd – 27th July
– 30th July – 3rd August
– 6th – 10th August
There will be professional coaches in attendance covering 8 sports – rugby, basketball, hockey, football, cricket, netball, tennis and squash.
The price of each camp is $550 (SCC members receive a 10% discount. There is also a sibling discount).
