As we get ready for a busy weekend of rugby, with the TRC Junior Tournament, and JRCS semi-finals, we look back on last weekend with the U8 at Dempsey who hosted Centaurs for a friendly match. Great rugby from both teams, and some happy children and coaches!

We have a busy day this Saturday 20th May with the TRC Junior Cup Tournament, and 7 JRCS League semi-finals being hosted at Dempsey, so there will be no training for most squads.
U4
U4 training is still on this Saturday, and will start at the normal time of 7:45AM. Training will be on the soccer pitch however.
U5 – U10 (and Girls Contact U10-U12)
There will be no training for the U5 to U10 as they are taking part in the TRC Junior Cup Tournament which is being held at Tanglin Rugby Club, Turf City.
As a number of girls from Girls Contact U10-U12 are taking part in the mixed teams at the tournament over the weekend, there will be no training for them on Sunday 21st May.
U11 – U17
Apart from the U12, who will hold a small training session at the normal time on the soccer pitch, there is no training for the U11, and U13 to U17.
JRCS Semi-Finals
We will be hosting 7 games on the rugby field for the JRCS semi finals:
7:50AM – SCC U11 Tigers v Titans
8:40AM – SCC U11 Lions v Dragons
9:30AM – SCC U14 v TRC
10:40AM – SCC U12 v Dragons
11:40AM – SCC U13 v Oldhams
12:55PM – SCC U15 v Oldhams
2:10PM – SCC U17 v Dragons
Good luck to everyone!

ONE NEW WHEELCHAIR!
A huge thank you to all the bakers and the eaters at our bake sale last Saturday! Thanks to everyone’s amazing generosity, we raised more than $2,000 which was enough to buy one new wheelchair for the Wheelchair Rugby Association (Singapore)!
We had so many donations that we’ve got enough to have a mini bake sale this Saturday 13th May too! So drop by the F&B shed if you would like a cupcake with your coffee! Don’t worry, all the goodies were packed away safely in the freezer after last Saturday’s bake sale.
The ice pops will also be on sale again for all those hot, thirsty children!

THE FRY GROUP WEBINAR: MOVING ABROAD – LIFE OVERSEAS AS AN EXPAT

Setting up life in a new country is a big step that can be exciting, if somewhat daunting. With a range of considerations and decisions to make – financial and otherwise – moving abroad requires careful research wherever you’re going in the world.
Join this webinar, where our experts, Peter Webb, Head of Tax Advisory and Huw Wedlock, Director, (both expatriates themselves) provide some important steps to consider when it comes to your move overseas, including key financial matters, in particular your liability to UK tax and maximising your expat status.
What can I learn from this webinar?
- What you’ll need to put in place before leaving the UK
- Why it’s important to update your Will and pension plans ahead of a move
- How UK tax rules affect you when living abroad
- What UK taxes still apply when you’re overseas
- How to manage your UK property
There will also be plenty of opportunity for Q&A.
Please register below to receive the webinar link.
Wednesday 24 May 2023:
UK 9am, Europe 10am, Dubai 12pm, Singapore/Hong Kong 4pm
Please feel free to forward this invitation to friends, colleagues or family members if you feel it would be of interest to them. We look forward to you joining the webinar.
KEEP HYDRATED
With the current hot and humid weather, it’s very easy to become dehydrated. This is particularly so for the young, and those partaking in outdoor activities – such as rugby and touch!
Dehydration affects our brain’s ability to regulate body temperature, and by the time we experience actual thirst, our brains are already partially dehydrated.
Please make sure your children hydrate well before they come down to training, ensure that they have a full water bottle with them, and encourage them to take sips regularly even if they don’t feel thirsty. If they run out of water, there is water pitch side where they can refill their bottles.

KIT
If your team is taking part in games or tournaments, we would kindly ask that you ensure that your child is wearing their full and up-to-date kit. They must wear the latest playing jersey/touch tops which have our sponsors latest logos on them. Please keep the old tops with the old logos just for training.
We need to honour our sponsors contribution and support by wearing the tops that they have sponsored for us.

LIGHT SNACKS AT DEMPSEY
