CELEBRATING OUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY
We are holding the SCC Rugby Academy 10th Anniversary celebrations this weekend on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September, where will be giving out goodie bags of gifts for all the children, in addition to handing out the anniversary shirts to the parents who ordered them last term. Don’t forget to come up to the F&B Shack after training to pick up the goodie bags, and meet some of the other Academy families. On Saturday, there will be a BBQ on offer (burgers, hotdogs, etc), as well as the usual muffins, croissants and pastries.

UPDATES TO TRAINING
TEAMS PLAYING AWAY
The following teams will be away on the following weekends:
Saturday 17th September
There will be no training for the U5 to U10 who will be taking part in the TRC Junior Tournament
Sunday 25th September
There will be no touch training for the girls as they will be participating in the TRC Touch Tournament
Saturday 8th October
There will be no training for the U11 through to U16/17 who will be taking part in the TRC Cup Tournament
VISITING TEAMS
A few of our age groups will be hosting some of the other JRCS clubs at Dempsey:
Sunday 18th September
The Touch U10 and Touch U12 girls will be hosting TRC for friendly games during training
Saturday 24th September
The SCC Rugby Academy U7 through to U17 will be hosting Dragons Rugby Club for friendly games at training
CONGRATULATIONS ORSON JAMES
Congratulations to former SCC Rugby Academy player Orson James who had his first game with the Exeter Chiefs last week. Orson was one of the first children to join the Academy back in 2012 when we first started, playing in the 2004 cohort. He played with the Academy for a couple of years, before moving back to Wales with his family. He continued to have a very successful rugby career at the schools level (he was named man of the match at the Welsh Schools & Colleges Bowl League Final), before being selected to play for the Wales U18s. He is now signed up with the Exeter Chiefs whilst he attends Exeter University.
LIGHT SNACKS AT DEMPSEY
Don’t forget that light snacks are now available for sale at the F&B Hut at Dempsey. You will now be able to buy muffins, sandwiches and hot dogs to go with your coffee! Please note that it is CASH ONLY or you can sign on your account if you are a Singapore Cricket Club member.
KIT
As rugby and touch get back into the swing of things, with the lifting of the restrictions from the past two years, we are very excited to be taking part in many tournaments and friendly games with our fellow junior clubs. If your team is taking part in games, we would kindly ask that you ensure that your child is wearing their full and up-to-date kit. They must wear the latest playing jersey/touch top that they were given which have our sponsors latest logos on them. Please keep the old tops with the old logos just for training.
Our sponsors have generously stood by us during the past 2 years, and we need to honour their contribution and support by wearing the tops that they have sponsored for us.
